Love Lifted Me

Love Lifted Me

“He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm a place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth; a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.” Psalm 40:2-3

In life we can often feel the weight of the world, work responsibilities, family obligations, and personal expectations. When these are combined with ever-changing world in which we live there seems to be no foundation with which to ground ourselves too. During high times of stress we can feel alone, trapped, and stuck in life. Do not be discouraged the Lord is waiting to do His work in, to, and through us.

The Psalmist reminds us that the Lord can lift us out of the pit, the muck and mire of life and give us a sure place to plant our feet on a solid foundation on which we can live. The Lord comes to take us out our chaos and struggles and give us safe footing on His word, His promise, and His Son. We can stand through the most difficult of times and circumstances if our foundation is sure.

The Psalmist says, “He puts a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God .” We are given a sure foundation in a world that is slipping away. He puts a new song in our mouths, a hymn of praise to our God. Where we are powerless to save ourselves, through His great mercy, power, and love He saved us.

Let me share a few words with you of one such “new song”. “Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, love lifted me.” Thank you Lord that your love lifted us and may we always offer praise to you for your unfailing love. It is when we testify to His great work in our lives that others too will come to put their trust in the Lord. The Lord, in His love, He can lift you up and give you a sure foundation, a song to sing, and a message to share. Thank you Lord, for your great love!
