Christ’s Love Compels Us

What moves us to action? Is it a cause or injustice? Is in money or power? Is it that we are determined and self-motivated?

Life lived for things not eternal will not outlast this life.

For the believer it is Christ’s love that compels us. The most compelling thing in the Bible is Christ’s love. We must also be convinced of the depth of his love, which is the gift of life and eternal life. You cannot give what you don’t have. Only the one who came before and is eternal can give life that is eternal.

It is the gift of life that showed the compelling love of Christ that brings forth life in us.

14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15New International Version (NIV)
